Confidential information and advice on matters relating to academic work
The Academic Advisory Service provides a confidential service of information and advice to any student (or member of staff) of the University on any matter relating to academic work, or anything affecting academic progress.
The Academic Advisory Service is:
- independent of Faculties and Schools;
- completely confidential;
- part of The University of Manchester's network of student support services.
Meetings are designed to:
- help students to identify what options they have and how to explore these further;
- help them to help themselves and identify a strategy to move forward;
- and encourage them to (re)-connect with academic and personal advisors, School Support Offices and other University support services;
- run by a small team of part-time advisors, some of whom are members of academic staff.
If you encounter a student who you think may benefit from a meeting with an academic advisor, you can advise them to:
- drop in to make an appointment: First floor, University Place, Oxford Road (Number 37 on the campus map)
- telephone 0161 275 3033 to make an appointment
- give the student our website address: www.campus.manchester.ac.uk/academicadvisoryservice/
