Opportunities for careers advice, information, jobs and opportunities
Despite the economic downturn, hundreds of representatives from leading employers, professional bodies and educational institutions are visiting our campus this month to offer our students careers advice, information, jobs and opportunities.
Colleagues are asked to promote the University's extensive portfolio of careers fairs to our students and graduates, with the aim of giving them a head-start in the competitive job market.
The careers fairs include:
21 October: Engineering, Science & Technology Fair
22 October: Finance, Business & Management Fair
Two very popular sector-specific events, with around 150 different recruiters exhibiting over the two days. This fair is aimed at both finalists and graduates seeking full-time employment in autumn 2010 as well as pre-finalists seeking student placements.
28 October: Postgraduate Study Fair
Aimed at students from all disciplines who are considering further study. Over 90 universities from across the UK and overseas will be there to offer information and advice on funding, courses and much more.
29 October: Law Fair
A highly-regarded information fair aimed at all students and graduates (not just law undergraduates) who are considering training for a career in the legal sector. Around 100 exhibitors are attending including City, national and local law firms, course providers and representatives from a range of professional bodies including The Bar Council and the Institute of Legal Executives.
The programme of fairs is organised by the MLP & Careers & Employability Division.
