Manchester Medieval Society welcomes all members of staff
29 Sep 2009
Varied programme of Thursday evening lectures begins 22 October
The Manchester Medieval Society exists to promote all aspects of medieval studies – history, literature, science, art, archaeology, music – in a spirit of good fellowship.
The Society is open to all members of The University of Manchester and to those in the vicinity of the University who have an interest in any aspect of medieval studies.
Every year the Society organises a varied programme of lectures on Thursday evenings followed by supper for those wishing to continue informal discussion afterwards.
In 2009/10, the Society will look to use a variety of eating establishments in order to accommodate differing tastes, and it is hoped that this will tempt members to stay for supper so that this part of the evening continues to feature in future programmes.
The Society also organises a Spring outing to medieval places of interest – churches, abbeys, priories, castles – in Lancashire, Cumbria, Yorkshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Shropshire.
If you are interested in having news of the Society’s activities or joining the Society, please come along to one of our lectures.
