29 Jun 2009

What's on in July

Welcome to The Manchester Museum's ebulletin for families. As the Summer Holidays approach, we have a jam-packed month full of exciting activities for all the family! Join us and take part in our Superheroes Big Saturday, explore the evolution of super powers, take part in a drama workshop, or watch a great film in our Family Friendly Film Screening. Discover the world of alien plants and find out how plants have been adapted by people at Alien plant day.

Why not get creative at Whitworth Art Gallery Colourful Sunday at The Manchester Museum. Celebrate National Archaeology Festival and come and have a go at cave painting or making a woolly mammoth.

The Manchester Hermit has now taken up his residency. Ansuman will be communicating through an online blog. You will be able to follow his thoughts, leave him messages and add in your own creative responses. Further details will be added to the Museum's website soon.

If you know anyone who is interested in receiving our enewsletters and finding out more about our activities, they can now sign up through:

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Best wishes,

Manchester Hermit
Moving in on Saturday!

Artist Ansuman Biswas will be taking up his residency as a hermit in the Museum's tower for 40 days and 40 nights this Saturday (27 June). He will be looking at some of the Museum's hidden objects and uncovering their stories. He will also be thinking about bigger issues facing the world we live in, including extinction and climate change.

Ansuman will be communicating through an online blog. You will be able to follow his thoughts, leave him messages and add in your own creative responses.

BBC Newsround's reporters came to talk with Ansuman in the Museum. They also asked some of our younger visitors what they would like him to think about during his stay.

Follow his online blog or follow his twitter feed and leave your own welcome messages at:
