How the USS is dealing with funding challenges

In common with other defined benefit pension schemes across the UK, the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) is facing many challenges. The USS Trustee Board has issued a briefing note for members which sets out the funding pressures that the USS will have to meet in the years ahead and the way forward.

The briefing note is designed to help you understand the context of discussions between employers and trades unions on the future of the scheme and to give reassurance that the security of the pension you have already built up is in no way under threat.
