New Social Media Course at Staff Training and Development Unit
16 Jun 2009
TP45, Social Media: Friday 10 July, 10am-11.30am
This session will take a closer look at the whole phenomena of social media and help you navigate your way around the Web 2.0 world - from webcasts to wikis, blogs to BeBo, by way of Facebook and Twitter.
All of these tools can help us to communicate in our jobs, but how do you know which to use and when? And when might it be better to use more traditional methods of communication?
The workshop will also take a look into the future to see how social media may develop in the coming years.
This session is open to any member of staff here at the University and will be of particular interest to anyone who has to communicate either with colleagues or students within the University, or with audiences either in the UK or overseas.
The session is being led by Chris Bignell, former Head of Communications at both Motorola and Toshiba Mobile.
