Talented young minds wanted for new BBC3 series

BBC3 is seeking out the most talented young minds in the country to become involved in a new factual television series.

The series will explore what intelligence is and how it can and should be measured in the modern world. Essentially it will be a challenge programme, using stylised tasks but containing a serious message about intelligence - think Crystal Maze / Krypton Factor rather than It's A Knock Out. These tasks will test participants in areas of human performance and will be based on the latest psychological and scientific research. Through these challenges it is hoped to highlight all aspects of intelligence, including areas that are often overlooked. Then, with the help of psychologists and experts, the programme will investigate why some people do better at certain tasks than others.

BBC3 is trying to find outstanding academic individuals (recent graduates or current students/researchers) with a proven record of excellence in a particular area to make up a regular team of contestants. This panel will return each week to face tasks against a team of contestants from non-academic backgrounds. The academic contributors will represent a range of subjects, therefore bringing a variety of skills to the table. Potential team members should also have a good sense of fun and be interested in finding out how their minds work.

Potential participants will be seen during early May with a view to start filming early this summer. Participants will be paid for taking part in this programme.
