Metrolink replacement bus services improved
12 May 2009
Single bus link for all city centre stops from 18 May
Metrolink replacement bus services in Manchester city centre are to be improved following feedback from passengers.
GMPTE is currently replacing all the city centre tram track as part of a £100 million project to improve the system. Two bus links are running to city centre stops at the moment but will be replaced by a simplified, more direct bus route next week.
From Monday 18 May, passengers will be able to get to Victoria, Piccadilly Gardens, Piccadilly Station and St Peter's Square using one bus.
Services will run every 12 minutes from the first bus up to 7pm Monday to Saturday and every 20 minutes after 7pm and on Sundays.
Double trams are running every 12 minutes in the peak between Bury and Victoria and Altrincham and St Peter's Square.
Metrolink tickets are valid on the replacement bus service and must be bought before boarding.
