Equality for everyone through the University's Single Equality Scheme
- Do you ever feel excluded formally or informally where you work as a result of your lesbian, gay, or bisexual identity?
- Do you feel able to be out at work? If not, why not?
- What do you feel prevents people from being out at work?
These are a few of the things we’d like to know to help us develop the University’s Single Equality Scheme.
This Scheme is the first time the University has developed a University-wide strategy that specifically looks at the things it can do to support its lesbian, gay, and bisexual employees. That's why it's incredibly important we talk to staff and find out what it is that can be done to address any disadvantages, remove barriers, eliminate discrimination, and actively promote equality and embrace diversity.
There are many ways to get involved in developing this Scheme:
Focus Group
- The first is a focus group that is being held on 7 May from 10am to 12 noon. This group will be conducted by an external consultant, discussions and participation will be treated with the utmost confidence. Please contact Cath Moss for more details.
Written Feedback
- If you can not attend this group or simply do not wish to be consulted in this way there will be the opportunity to provide written feedback through an online anonymous form. This form will be distributed widely and will be available on the Equality and Diversity intranet site from 5 to 29 May.
