Reserve your place for talk and book signing on 22 April.
The Confucius Institute is pleased to announce an upcoming talk by Chinese author Yu Dan, whose forthcoming book, From the Heart: The Secrets of Confucius, will be published in the UK by Pan Macmillan on 1 May.
In the autumn of 2006, Yu Dan, a professor of media studies at Beijing Normal University, gave a series of lectures on Confucius which was broadcast on China Central Television. Her highly personal interpretation of Confucian thought was rapturously received, and the transcripts were edited into a book and published.
By September of the following year the book had sold over four million legal copies in China and an estimated six million pirated ones, and remains at the top of the Chinese bestseller lists to this day. Also known as 'The Beauty Professor', Yu Dan is now a household name in China.
Yu Dan will be speaking about her new book on Wednesday 22 April, from 2.30pm to 3.30pm, in the John Thaw Studio Theatre, Martin Harris Centre. A book signing will follow the event.
All are welcome, however places must be reserved through the Confucius Institute. For more information or to reserve a place, please contact:
