Volunteer with UNICEF on Campus and LIFE.

05 Mar 2009

Could you provide friendship and support to children in need?

UNICEF on Campus and LIFE (Life Improvement For Everyone) need enthusiastic volunteers who can provide friendship and support to young people in need! The two charities have teamed up to offer all students and staff a fantastic opportunity to gain volunteer experience within the UK and overseas and help children in need on a practical basis.

In 2007, UNICEF UK raised £41.3 million for its work with children worldwide and also advocates for lasting change for children. LIFE is a non-profit, voluntary organisation run by students and alumni of The University of Manchester. They work with abandoned and orphaned children, single mothers, and Roma communities in Romania, Bulgaria, Belarus, India, Uganda, and the UK.

Volunteering on such projects poses a number of challenges, both in terms of helping disadvantaged children overcome their disabilities, as well as helping to overcome the cultural prejudices that affect many of the communities that need support.

All volunteers will receive certificated and/or accredited training at The University of Manchester.
