New arrangements for goods-in-transit insurance.

Goods-in-transit insurance cover is now automatically in place for most property for which the University is responsible whilst in transit and whilst temporarily away from the University.

The specification of the automatic goods-in-transit cover is necessarily detailed, but your attention is drawn to the summary of cover in:

Your attention is also drawn to the fact that any University drivers transporting goods must be informed of, and understand, the security conditions described in the specification.
The Insurance Office does not need to be informed of property being transported where the arrangements fall within the specification for automatic cover, and routine goods-in-transit insurance costs will not be charged to users.
Cover for property not meeting the specification for automatic cover can be arranged through the Insurance Office in most cases. Insurance cover in these cases will be subject to prior agreement with the insurers and this may take up to a week to arrange (longer in complex cases).
