CICADA workshop on hybrid systems and model reduction.
04 Feb 2009
On 19-20 March 2009.
To be held at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Computational and Dynamical Analysis (CICADA), School of Mathematics.
The goal of the workshop is to look at recent developments in the areas of dynamical systems and model reduction, and to identify tools used in each field which could be applied to the effective investigation of hybrid systems.
To this end we will look at different formalisms used to tackle hybrid systems, the role of singular perturbations in dynamical systems as a model reduction tool, and at recent developments in model reduction theory.
Organizers:
- Paul Glendinning (CICADA/School of Mathematics, The University of Manchester)
- Younes Chahlaoui (CICADA, The University of Manchester)
- Piotr Kowalczyk (CICADA, The University of Manchester)
Keynote speakers:
- John Guckenheimer (Cornell University)
- Martin Krupa (Radboud University Nijmegen, Netherlands)
- Dave Broomhead (CICADA, The University of Manchester)
- Younes Chahlaoui (CICADA, The University of Manchester)
If you would like to give a contributed talk of 30 minutes length (25 minutes talk plus five minutes for discussion/questions) in the area described above, please send an abstract to:
Obviously, it will be only possible to accept a few of these, and we would particularly encourage junior researchers to submit abstracts. We will support some junior researchers.
The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 5 March 2009.
