Ski weekend at Aviemore.

Head for the Highlands on 6-8 February 2009.

Fellow skiers, snowboarders, walkers and laid-back folk

For the NINTH year running we are organising the Skiing or Snow Boarding or Chilling Out or
Walking weekend at the Academy Hotel in the MacDonald Aviemore Mountain Resort, Scotland, from 6 to 8 February 2009 inclusive. Timing is perfect: the second weekend in Semester 2 and Examinations are over and it is just before VALENTINE'S DAY!! if you wish to treat someone special, come and taste the Highlands!! Everyone had a fantastic time last year.

We will have FREE use of the Highland Leisure Arena at the MacDonald Aviemore Mountain
Resort (don't forget your swimsuits!).

Price of £162 in the Academy Hotel (based on two adults sharing) includes:

  • En-suite hotel accommodation, two breakfasts, three-course evening dinner Saturday, high tea Sunday
  • Transfer to the ski slopes daily, plus courier to accompany group
  • Family rooms available (children 15 and under sharing with two adults have a £47 reduction per child)
  • Return Coach travel from North Campus:
    - Depart Manchester Friday 6 February 2008 at 3.15pm prompt
    - Return Manchester Sunday 8 February 2008 at 11.30pm (arrival back in Manchester) (North Campus car parking for the weekend will be arranged)

Skiing and snowboarding costs are extra.

The offer is open to ALL staff members and students, their friends and families (membership not required).

Once again, the trip is being organised direct (to save time) with Ski Norwest, the operator we have always used.

Payments

  • £30 non-returnable deposit will secure your booking.
  • FINAL payment due: 19 December 2008 latest.
  • BOOKINGS TAKEN ON FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS.
  • Bookings and payments for ski/board tuition and equipment hire etc will be collected in January 2009.

Sample Beginner Package

  • Two days' ski hire (skis, poles and boots)/snowboard hire (board and boots), plus one day's lesson £60
    or
  • Two days' ski hire (skis, poles and boots)/ board hire (board and boots) plus two days' lessons £90

Costs

  • Two days' skis, poles and boot hire is £30 per person.
  • Two days' snowboard and boot hire is £30.00 per person.
  • Two-day lift passes are £23 per person per day if in Ski School for one day, OR £46 if in Ski School for two days.
  • £29 per person per day or £55.00 pp for two days if free skiing.
  • Ski jackets and ski pant hire: £15 per item per two-day hire.
