The Directorate of Sport, Trading and Residential Services ('STARS') offers a one-stop solution for academics interested in attracting and organising conferences here at The University of Manchester, a service directly supporting the University's 2015 goal of achieving high international standing.
The Conference Sales Office are in the process of hosting a series of academic conference road shows around the University and would be delighted to offer advice or support to anyone planning to organise a conference.
STARS are currently working with departments on academic conferences worth over one million pounds. The service includes researching suitable events within your academic area of expertise and then promoting to the national organising committee the benefits derived in bringing the conference to Manchester. We have extensive experience of creating effective bid documents and presentations and will ensure that host visits provide a positive and persuasive impression of the University and of the City.
Part of this service is called 'ConferCare', which provides a comprehensive event and delegate management service designed to take away the administrative burden of organising a conference. This includes everything from the design of the registration documents and website development through to final invoicing. There is a very competitive charge for this service which will be included within the development of the initial conference budget.
