Quatuor Danel Evening Concert
- Tchaikovsky Andante cantabile, from String Quartet no. 1, op. 11
- Weinberg Quartet no. 17 in D, op. 146 (UK premiere)
- Shostakovich Quartet no. 5 in B flat, op. 92
Tchaikovsky's folk-based slow movement, which famously reduced Leo Tolstoy to tears, Weinberg's bucolic last quartet, and the most symphonic of Shostakovich's Quartets, composed towards the end of Stalin's rule and kept in the drawer until the death of the dictator.
