FoodOnCampus goes free range.

08 Sep 2008

Fresh eggs from happy chickens from 22 September.

As from 22 September 2008 all fresh eggs used in FoodOnCampus will be free range and local, sourced from a farm in Lymm, Cheshire.

So when you have your sunny side up for breakfast you can be confident that the chicken that produced the egg was a happy chicken. Hens that produce free-range eggs must have had, during at least half their lifetime, continuous daytime access to open-air runs.

This coincides with the launch of omelette bars in Eats at University Place and the Barnes Wallis Restaurant for the start of the new term.

All fresh chicken used in dishes cooked by the chef’s in FoodOnCampus is British and farm assured, ensuring that the welfare of the chickens we use is of the highest standard.
