Changes to spam settings on your email account.

Advice on checking your "Spam" folder from 6 August.
On 6 August, IT Services will be enabling spam filtering on any centrally listed email account, which does not already have spam filtering enabled.
Accounts which already have spam filtering enabled won't be affected.
As a part of this change, where an email account is set to forward mail to another address, this will continue, but it will stop forwarding mail that has been classified as spam.
Email will still be delivered to your account as before, however, any messages considered to be spam, will automatically be moved to a folder called "Spam". This folder should be checked periodically to ensure no legitimate mail has been incorrectly classified as spam. The folder should also be emptied regulary to keep your email quota down.
If you forward your mail to another address then, after this change, you should regularly check your University account for mis-classified mail and to manage your quota.
