Security Alert - Never give anyone your IT password!
10 Jul 2008
Contact IT Servicedesk if you have replied to request for log-in details.
The University was blacklisted from sending email to a number of major email providers (including Microsoft Hotmail and Tiscali mail) for several days over the last few weeks.
This was a direct result of some staff and students replying to the recent fake messages (phishing emails) with their login information.
These usernames and passwords have been used by criminal gangs to send millions of SPAM messages that appeared to come from University addresses.
If you have replied to any requests for your login information, you must contact the IT service desk (if you haven't already done so).
For details, see:
PLEASE NOTE: Members of the University's IT staff should never ask you for your password and, even if they do, you should NOT give it to them.
