Nutrition and Weight Loss Course.
11 Jun 2008
A healthy and sensible approach to eating well and losing weight.
The nutrition and weight loss course is an eight-week course led by Ursula Gothard (BSc Nutritional Medicine & manager of Eight Day). The course looks into eating patterns and why many diet programmes offered today don’t work. Ursula will discuss practical ways to manage and lose weight with optional weekly weigh-ins. The course will look at ways to lose weight as well was eating behaviours, nutrition and how to eat a balanced diet.
The course has been running all year in the Well-Being Room and Ursula has received some excellent results. Ursula says: “Anne Thompson came to the nutrition and weight loss course in week one weighing 15 stone and by week 6 she weighed 13 stone and 13 lbs which is an average weight loss of between 2 and 3 lbs a week. When I asked Anne how she felt she said she felt more confident, her mood was better and she felt really healthy. She also said that on the new regime of eating 5 times a day she has more energy and never feels hungry. She has tried all sorts of new foods and introduced her children to healthier ways of eating and says that they have also admitted to feeling better!
“Anne says she never would have believed that eating five times a day could help lose weight, build her confidence and make her feel happier. She has found a new direction with food and built a new life for herself through being on the course.“
