Changes to University IT procurement processes.
01 May 2008
Purchasing IT goods.
Following both the recommendations of the 2007 IT task group and an associated University IT procurement review, IT Services have been working to redesign the processes surrounding IT procurement in order to deliver a family of effective, efficient and cost-saving purchasing processes for IT goods.
As a result of these reviews:
- IT Services will host a series of University open meetings for staff in mid-May presenting the proposed changes and seeking your views.
- The CompShop in the Kilburn building will close permanently to business on Friday 27 June.
- The Hardware Maintenance Workshop in the Kilburn building will close permanently on Friday 25 July (please note that the Workshop is presently providing a reduced service due to recent staff changes).
- IT Services is currently developing a new IT procurement website, for launch at the end of June, which will give detailed information and guidance for University staff about all aspects of IT goods procurement.
