Seeking males with fluent English and no recent history of psychiatric illness.
Are you easily affected by the strong emotions of people around you? Do you often act on the spur of the moment without thinking about the consequences? Are you interested in participating in a research project looking at how the brain works?
I am a PhD student working under supervision of Dr Birgit Völlm and Dr Rhiannon Corcoran at the Neuroscience and Psychiatry Unit of The University of Manchester. Currently, I am conducting a study investigating which brain areas are active when people act empathically or impulsively.
We are looking for male participants whose English is fluent and who have not been treated for any psychiatric illness, such as depression or anxiety, within the last year. The study involves a short interview, completing questionnaires and brain imaging (fMRI) and will approximately take 2.5 hours to complete. You will be compensated £30 for your time.
