Literature Live: 'Poetry Review' spring issue launch (FREE entry)

Launch event for the spring issue of Poetry Review magazine, including readings and discussion with editor Fiona Sampson, guest poets Sarah Corbett and Michael Murphy, and poet, fiction-writer and broadcaster Michael Symmons Roberts.

Michael Symmons Roberts won the 2004 Whitbread Poetry Award for his fourth book of poetry, Corpus, and has been shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize, the Forward Prize for best collection, and the Griffin International Prize. He has also received the Society of Authors' Gregory Award and the K. Blundell Trust Award, and was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize for his 2001 collection Burning Babylon.

His first novel, Patrick's Alphabet, appeared in 2006, and his latest, Breath, has just been published.  It has been described by the Telegraph as "inventive in its form and often profound in its poetry." 

Michael teaches at Manchester Metropolitan University's Writing School, has worked as a documentary producer/director for the BBC, and writes extensively for radio and television.  His collaborations with composer James MacMillan have also led to two BBC Proms choral commissions, a song cycle and an opera for the Welsh National Opera.
