Extinction Big Saturday and Predators' Week.

Extinction Big Saturday
Saturday 9 February, 11am - 4pm

Join in Extinction day at The Manchester Museum. Find out about the extinct species in the Museum's collection including dinosaurs, the passenger pigeon, giant earwigs and lost languages. Art and craft activities, object handling and family friendly film screenings will be taking place all day. Dino-expert, Dr Phil Manning will be leading a talk on the extinction of dinosaurs (1pm, £1.50, 8+, book) and amphibian expert Andrew Gray will be asking whether frogs can predict the future? (3pm, £1.50, 8+, book).

Dr Phil Manning will also be signing copies of his new books: Dino mummy and Grave secrets of dinosaurs. Come and find out more about his research into dinosaurs.

Predators' Week: Half term holiday activities
Monday 11 - Saturday 16 February

Daily activities will be taking place throughout the week including:

  • Get close to our British predators: Mon 11, 11am-4pm (Drop-in free all ages)
  • Predator puppets: Tues 12, 1-3pm (Book, £3, 4+)
  • Predators adventure: Weds 13, 1.30 & 3.30pm (Book, free, 6+)
  • Skull cleaning: Thurs 14, 1-3pm (Drop-in, free, all ages)
  • Busy badger day: Fri 15, 1-4pm (Drop-in, free, under 5s)
  • Plants in disguise: Sat 16 11am - 4pm. Various activities throughout the day including interactive tours to the University of Manchester's Botanical Gardens
