Opportunities to improve your health and general well-being.
This term the University Counselling Service offers the following workshops as part of the Well-Being Friday Forum lunchtime programme:
15 February - Introduction to Food and Mood
- Can food really affect my mental health?
- How does food affect mood?
- What's the psychological relationship?
- How do I find out if food is affecting my mental health?
- What should I look for in my diet?
- Which foods affect which moods?
- Which foods do I need to eat in order to feel well?
- How can I go about changing my diet?
- Can I get help?
7 March - Managing Sleep Problems
- Information and practical advice about how to manage sleep problems.
14 March - An Introduction to Managing Anxiety
This session is a practical and informative introduction to:
- Identifying negative and self-defeating thought patterns: learning to think in a more balanced and realistic manner, how to influence our beliefs about ourselves.
- Learning ways of preventing anxiety from becoming unmanageable
- Looking at making a difference - what is within our control?
- Learning to relax more and to engage in more pleasant events.
- Thinking about the mind/body link.
These workshops take place from 1pm to 2.30pm and are held in the Well-Being Room, Dover Street Building, Dover Street.
