Including a FREE lunchtime concert by Quatuor Danel on Valentine's Day.
Our current season at the Martin Harris Centre is now well under way - packed with a diverse range of exciting events. If you haven't already seen our new brochure, please pick one up from around the University or check out our website for full details.
This month's events continue with the next in the continuing series of FREE lunchtime concerts in the Cosmo Rodewald Concert Hall from the University's internationally renowned resident string quartet - Quatuor Danel. The concert takes place on Thursday 14 February at 1.10pm - what better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than with the UK premiere of Popov's Quartet-Symphony? Op.61 Quatuor Danel return on Friday 15 February at 7pm for a full concert - this time they present Haydn's Quartet in D, Op.71 No 2; Beethoven's Quartet in E minor, Op.59 No 2 and the University's very own Richard Whalley's Interlocking Melodies. A treat not to be missed!
Our season of FREE lunchtime concerts continue the following week - Thursday 21 February at 1.10pm with a percussion extravaganza performed by music students led by Paul Patrick, principal percussionist of the BBC Philharmonic.
And rounding off February are two exciting concerts from The University of Manchester Big Band and The University of Manchester Symphony Orchestra on 22 and 23 February respectively.
