Awareness raising events: 3-7 December.
The University is organising its third annual Equality and Diversity week from 3 to 7 December 2007.
The main purpose of the week is to raise awareness of equality and diversity and to celebrate the positive contribution a diverse community brings.
Please find below a selection of events taking place during the week that you can sign up for:
Monday 3 December
- One to One Careers Guidance for Women, Disabled and Black and Minority Ethnic Staff
- A BBC Special Screening of the award winning 'Roots Remembered' followed by a discussion with BBC Producer Karen Gabay and Professor Lou Kushnick
Tuesday 4 December
- Project Conference: Minority Staff Advisory Networks
- The Banquet: A Multi-Faith dinner with speakers and discussions
Wednesday 5 December
- Diversity and the Past Symposium
Thursday 6 December
- PhD Seminar: Barriers to postgraduate education and widening participation
- Global Bollywood - 'Is Brown the new Black': Public lecture followed by a drinks reception
Friday 7 December 10am - 12 noon
- Managing Challenging Working Relationships: A workshop by Professor Katharine Perera
