Call for Reviewers: Advance HE Fellowship Scheme

26 Feb 2025

Following the successful launch of the newly accredited University of Manchester Advance HE Fellowship Scheme (AHEFS) earlier this semester, the Teaching Excellence team is seeking colleagues to join the scheme as reviewers.

Lecturer and students

The Fellowship Scheme (formerly known as LEAP), will continue to support educators from across the University community to achieve professional recognition in the form of Advance HE fellowships.

To date, over 2,000 colleagues have achieved Advance HE fellowships through LEAP, many of whom returned to support the scheme as reviewers.

Why become a reviewer?

Reviewers play a vital role in assessing applications for Advance HE Fellowship and providing constructive, developmental feedback to support colleagues’ career progression. By volunteering as a reviewer, you will contribute to a thriving teaching and learning community while further developing your own professional expertise.

What does it involve?

  • Reviewers assess fellowship applications during four assessment windows per academic year.
  • You can choose to review as many or as few applications as suits your availability.
  • Reviewers must hold Fellow (FHEA) or higher status.
  • Training is required once every two years and must be completed before assessing applications.

Upcoming training sessions

New reviewers are invited to attend a training session to familiarise themselves with PSF 2023 and the new Scheme:

  • Thursday 13 March, 13:00-14:30
  • Friday 28 March, 10:00-11:30
  • Wednesday 16 April, 14:00-15:30
