Call for Contributions: The University of Manchester Open Research Conference 2025
The University of Manchester’s Open Research Conference 2025 will take place on Monday, 9 June, and Tuesday, 10 June at Alliance Manchester Business School. This two-day event will showcase innovations in Open Research and explore bold ideas for reshaping how we conduct and share research. Researchers, PGRs, and research support professionals are invited to submit abstracts for presentations and posters by 31 March 2025. Celebrate International Love Data Week and sign up for Research Data Conversations on Wednesday, 12 February - the second in a new series of community events exploring themes within research data and data stewardship. This event is part of our My Research Essentials workshops.
Our Collections
New Collections - Widening the Range of our Digital Resources
The Library has recently acquired Global Issues Library, a comprehensive multidisciplinary resource that addresses a wide range of international topics, including border and migration studies, human rights, revolutions, and environmental challenges. Additionally, we have gained access to the Refugees, Relief, and Resettlement Series, an essential resource for the study of forced migration and refugee history providing archival material from renowned sources such as the U.K. National Archives, the British Library, and World Jewish Relief.

Library Training and Support for Semester 2
Our training and support, providing a flexible blend of workshops, drop-in sessions and online training resources all year round, continues during semester 2.
- My Learning Essentials: students canchoose from a wide range of workshops and online training resources covering academic skills, study strategies and wellbeing support. You can direct students to our open workshops and resources, or we can work with you to embed within your programme or module.
- My Research Essentials:supporting researchers in their developmentour workshops and online training resources focus on areas such as raising your research profile, disseminating your research and making your research open.
- Specialist Library Support: our expert support, available to all, provides help in specialist areas such as copyright, referencing, business data, advanced searching and systematic reviews.
