Support mums with postnatal depression

06 Dec 2024

Manchester Museum is aiming to raise £15,000 through the Big Give Christmas Challenge to support mums across Manchester suffering with postnatal depression.

Baby

Postnatal depression affects 1 in 10 new mothers and its effects can be debilitating. Muso Baby provides vital support through music therapy, harnessing the therapeutic power of music to help parents bond with their babies and develop ways to look after their own wellbeing.

Muso Baby is a social prescribing programme targeted at mums who might not normally access this kind of support or visit a museum and, crucially, its free to access.

The Museum is hoping to raise enough money to fund two full series of Muso Baby, supporting around 100 parents and their babies, but needs to meet its goal by midday on Tuesday 10 December.

Every donation they receive will be doubled, meaning any gift you can give will have even more impact on the lives of participating families.
