On 9 December, Professor Alex Frangi, Northern Gritstone’s Jess McCreadie, and University of Manchester Innovation Factory's (UMIF) Elliott Jennings, will join a panel session followed by a Northern Gritstone drop-in session tailored to academics at the University of Manchester.

During this session, Jess (Investment Director at Northern Gritstone), Alex (Director of the Pankhurst Institute and Professor of Computational Medicine, University of Manchester, and adsilico Co-founder), and Elliott (Senior Investment & Licensing Manager, Life Sciences, UMIF) will:
- Discuss the experience of taking research from the desk to potential investors based on Alex’s recent spinout experience
- Explore what an investor looks for in a potential company founder
- Discuss the process of developing an academic spinout
- Answer questions about Northern Gritstone and how they can support projects from the Faculty
