Campus Support & Security win ‘Star Performance’ Award for SafeZone

Paul Greenlees and wider Campus Support & Security team were rewarded for their efforts at the SafeZone Conference 2024.
At the SafeZone Conference 2024, a two-day event bringing together industry leaders and security experts, the Campus Support & Security team were recognised with the SafeZone Star Performer Award – a field which was open to the entire international community of organisations that use SafeZone.
The team were acknowledged for going “above and beyond” in their support and championing of the app within the University. It was also stated that Paul and the team have addressed accessibility issues with the introduction of SafeZone watches and successfully integrated the app into emergency response plans.
According to SafeZone, “the proactive approach to enhancing staff and student safety taken by Paul and Campus Support & Security at the University of Manchester is the standard by which we encourage all SafeZone user organisations to embody.”
Paul Greenlees, Deputy Head of Campus Support and Security, said: “The Campus Support and Security team have worked hard to promote SafeZone throughout the year, and we are proud to receive this award from Safezone. The team have done amazingly well over the past 12 months."

SafeZone is an app designed to speed up potential response times from Campus Support & Security when you need urgent help, first aid assistance, or wellbeing support. In the event of an emergency, we can also keep you updated via text messages should you need to be aware of any vital information.
We are part of the Manchester SafeZone Alliance, meaning you can use it across our campus, as well as the Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Salford campuses.
