For colleagues who have spent time away over the summer, we have compiled the main announcements that will help you prepare for the new academic year.
Welcome back to all our colleagues across the University. Any announcements from the summer that aren’t covered in the list below will have featured in your weekly eUpdate.
Car park permit office has new opening hours from September
- From 1 September 2024, the Car Park Permit Office changed its opening hours Monday to Friday.
University Intellectual Property Review
- As a co-author of the recently published University Spin-out Investment Terms Guide, the University is currently reviewing its IP Policy with a view to publishing at the end of 2024.
Whistleblowing (Public Interest Disclosure) Policy
- New Whistleblowing Policy and reporting procedure is now available to provide guidance and reassurance to colleagues who wish to disclose whistleblowing concerns.
Start of Year Hub
- The Start of Year Hub is a new area for updates about key operational areas, change projects, student activity and relevant contact information for the start of the new academic year.
Performance Development Reviews (PDR)
- We have now published full guidance to focus new PDR discussions around goals, challenges and opportunities for growth.
Training and development
Leadership and management apprenticeship opportunities
- The University offers a range of apprenticeship opportunities for new and existing colleagues to support career development, including our new leadership and management programmes for aspiring and experienced managers.
EDI Leadership Programmes launching in this autumn
- Career Development Programmes include Aurora (a leadership development programme for women), Stellar HE (a leadership programme for BAME colleagues) and 100 Black Women Professors Now (a support programme for Black academics).
Introductory training course for new Jobtrain recruitment system users
- On Monday, 5 August a new training course was introduced as part of essential training for all colleagues who need to use Jobtrain, the University’s recruitment and applicant tracking system.
