EDI Leadership Programmes launching in this autumn

Join the EDI Directorate on Monday, 9 September as they provide an overview of our Career Development Programmes aimed at developing a diverse pool of leaders from underrepresented backgrounds. 

Our career development programmes launching this autumn 2024 include: 

Aurora – leadership development programme for women

Aurora is Advance HE's leadership development initiative for women. It is run as a unique partnership bringing together leadership experts, higher education providers and research institutes to take positive action to address the under-representation of women in leadership positions in the sector.

Stellar HE – leadership programme for Black, Asian, and ethnically diverse Academic and PS colleagues

Stellar HE enhances and extends the leadership skills of Black, Asian, and ethnically diverse Academic and Professional colleagues in order to address their under-representation in senior positions.

100 Black Women Professors Now

100 Black Women Professors Now seeks to provide equity of opportunity while simultaneously dismantling the deep rooted barriers that are preventing gender equality from being our current reality. The programme supports Black academics with career coaching, sponsorship, mentoring, community building and much more. Information sessions 

Information Session - Monday, 9 September

This session is for anybody who is interested in developing their careers and would like to find out more about the programmes above.  This session is also open to line managers who are supporting colleagues with their career development.

Monday, 9 September, 10am-11.30am on Zoom (Zoom link to be circulated once you have completed the registration form).

We’ll start in the main Zoom room and then depending which session you are interested in, we’ll split into breakout rooms for programme-specific information before returning to the main room for application guidance and top tips.

The session will cover:

  • The application process for each programme including dates, deadlines and how to apply
  • What the programmes involve, the time commitment and expectations;
  • The support provided on each programme before, during and after your participation;
  • Hear from previous participants as they share their experiences; 
  • An opportunity to ask questions.
