Leadership and management opportunities for aspiring and experienced managers
The University offers a range of apprenticeship opportunities for new and existing colleagues to support career development, including our new leadership and management programmes for aspiring and experienced managers.
This August, colleagues who are interested in developing management and leadership skills will be able to apply for the following Programmes:
- The University of Manchester and Corndel Level 3 Leadership and Management Development pathway - 'Enable';
- The University of Manchester and Corndel Level 5 Leadership and Management Development pathway - 'Evolve';
- The University of Manchester and Corndel Level 7 Leadership and Management Executive Development pathway - 'Empower.'
All programmes are occupationally related, meaning that you will need to be in a role that provides sufficient scope to be able to apply your learning and demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours required. These apprenticeship programmes provide structured training over a period of 12 to-15 months and are nationally recognised and CMI accredited.
Helen Ashley, Director of Organisational Development said, ‘ We understand the importance of theory and research underpinning our professional practice. We offer apprenticeships at the University to support career development because we know they create opportunities to consider practice improvements in the light of research theory and evidence-based insights.
Our apprenticeship offering creates an approach to on-the-job learning which generates lasting improvements in performance that are closely aligned to our values of knowledge, wisdom and humanity. In an organisation dedicated to lifelong learning, we believe that apprenticeships are a great way to support and develop our people.'
When do they start?
The next leadership and management programmes begin in November 2024 and will be delivered by our preferred training provider - Corndel. All programmes are fully funded through the Apprenticeship Levy, meaning there is no cost to you. These three programmes form an important part of our evolving leadership and management development offering.
Please note there are limited spaces available. However, If you are not able to sign up this year, these programmes will be running again throughout 2025. We will also be introducing Project Management and our Data-Driven Leader programme to our Leadership and Management apprenticeship offering, so watch this space.
