Access information for Aquatics car park users

Please be mindful of access, vehicle identification, and availability when using the Aquatics car park.

Aquatics Stairwell Access

When exiting and re-entering the Aquatics car park on foot, all users must use the main lift stairwell at the front of the building only. The fire exit stairwells at each end of the parking levels are for emergency use only.

Aquatics Users Vehicle Identification

The Aquatics car park is operated by Manchester City Council and Apcoa, with University permit holders permitted to park on Level 7 or above only. As the car park runs on different systems, with different set up for public and permit holders, there can at times be issues with access if permit holder cards have expired, or been changed.

To assist the Council and Apcoa to easily identify University Permit Holders in the event of any issues, we will be providing permit holders with a small UoM window sticker to display in their vehicle.

Aquatics Availability

Following an application process in November 2023, several spaces at the Aquatics were allocated to current permit holders at other car parks. Following a review of capacity, the remaining applicants have now been allocated a space at the Aquatics. If additional capacity becomes available, the Car Park Office will advertise another application process via StaffNet.
