Director of EDI, Banji Adewumi to leave for new role
04 Mar 2024
Banji Adewumi will be leaving the University this June.
Dear colleagues,
Banji Adewumi will be leaving the University this June.
I know it has been a very hard decision for Banji to take, particularly to leave a wonderful team who have done great things to firmly establish Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at the heart of what we do as a University.
However, she has decided to take on a new role (to be announced shortly) in London, closer to her home and family with a clear eye on her own health and wellbeing.
Banji has provided exceptional leadership in setting up and driving our EDI agenda in her unique and inspiring way and I know we all wish her well with the next chapter of her career.
Banji said, ‘It has been an honour and a pleasure to work with so many brilliant colleagues at the University. I am delighted that so much of our work and progress around our EDI strategy and agenda has made significant impact and has been recognised by external assessors over recent months. Together as a team, we have created a solid foundation from which to grow and develop, which I know you will all do.’
We will of course thank Banji and celebrate all that has been achieved before she leaves in June.
Kind regards
Patrick
