PC cluster software – important information and action required
21 Feb 2024
If you use PC clusters for teaching, you must let IT Services know your software requirements before Friday 29 March by completing the form below, to ensure the clusters can be ready in time, otherwise the software you need may be unavailable.
This applies whether you want to carry on using the same software, add new software, update software or remove software.
The process is now changing. To ensure you have the required software for the start of the next Academic Year, IT Services need as much information as possible to complete all packaging and testing activities.
Moving forwards, any requests that are received after the deadline of Friday 29 March will be subject to a lead time of approximately 40 days for any new packaging requests to be deployed. Therefore, informing IT Services of your requirements as requested is essential to ensure readiness for start of year.
On completion of the above form, you will be prompted to complete a second form (Desktop Software Application Packaging form). You can complete this second form yourself, or you may want to delegate to a colleague with relevant expertise.
If you have any technical questions, please contact Lydia Towell (lydia.towell@manchester.ac.uk).
