Issues with the podcast service - resolved
01 Feb 2024
All services on video.manchester.ac.uk have now been restored.
The lecture capture support team have continued to monitor the system overnight, with processing levels returning to usual volumes and the backlog now completely processed.
With the service now having returned to stability, we have restored video Uploads and lecture recording editing.
We advise colleagues not to upload videos, or edit their lecture recordings during peak processing times, which occur immediately before and after lectures takes place.
For the best response when uploading or editing, please complete after 10 minutes past each hour, to avoid any potential issues.
Original message (1.20pm, Thursday 1 February)
Performance issues with the podcast service at video.manchester.ac.uk mean that some functionality is temporarily unavailable.
Due to these issues, the publication of some lecture recordings is delayed, and video uploads and video editing are currently unavailable.
Colleagues in IT Services are working to resolve this issue as a priority, however we expect that the upload and editing services will be unavailable until the morning of Friday 2 February at the earliest, subject to review.
We'll post another update here as soon as we have more information.
