Nominations are open for the Volunteer of the Year Awards 2024
06 Feb 2024
Celebrating the very best of volunteering, the awards are open to any undergraduate or postgraduate currently studying at our University and give us the opportunity to recognise those who epitomise what it means to make a difference.
Our University is full of amazing people who alongside their studies give their time to a range of great causes. Now is your chance to recognise their ongoing efforts in our annual Volunteer of the Year Awards!
- Make a nomination before Monday, 4 March (10am).
This year’s awards will include Student of the Year (undertaking volunteering that benefits the wider community) and Student Group of the Year as well as the newly introduced Student of the Year (undertaking volunteering that benefits other students) category.
- It's important to note that staff and alumni are now celebrated in the fantastic 'Making a Difference Awards,' and the Volunteer of the Year Awards are exclusively for student volunteers.
Very often, recognised nominees have been put forward by someone who knows them at our University. These individuals are often in a great position to explain the impact these nominees have made in their communities.
Last year’s winners initiated projects advocating for access to education for young people struggling with mental health, ran a code club to teach basic coding to youth, demonstrated exceptional commitment to the Scout Association, and volunteered with St John’s Ambulance. Winning groups supported individuals facing womb cancer, provided CPR and basic life support skills training, and aided homeless women dealing with period poverty.
Be inspired by the stories of our past winners and place your nomination on the Volunteer of the Year Awards website.
