Technician scores a place in national physical disability cricket squad

Jordan Williams has been selected to join the team on a five-game tour of India later this month
Jordan, who works as a technician for the Estates and Facilities fire alarm team, has been selected for the England Physical Disability Cricket Squad to compete in a series against the Indian Physical Disability Squad.
The 15-strong squad will play five IT20 matches in Ahmedabad and Udaipur, which will be the first international cricket for the England Men’s PD team since 2019.
Jordan says: “To be selected to represent your country is always a real honour. I have been part of the England Physical Disability cricket squad since 2013 and am gearing up for my sixth international tournament, having previously played around the globe in Dubai, Bangladesh and Worcester, which was the most recent, in 2019. Having waited four long years for more international cricket, this is obviously something I and the rest of the squad are hugely looking forward to.
“To be heading to one of the most cricket-loving countries, taking on India in their homeland, gives me a real thrill. Winning in India is the hardest challenge for any English cricketer - but it’s a challenge we are all ready for and absolutely buzzing to take on.”
“We fly out to Ahmedabad on Tuesday, 23 January, with the first of a five-game T20 series on Sunday, 28 January.
“I’d like to take the opportunity to thank the University and my line manager David Rose for their support.”
