Public engagement – what, why and how: our next open session for colleagues

Public engagement

Our new series of social responsibility and civic engagement open sessions for colleagues continues with a focus on public engagement at our University. Public engagement – what, why, how will take place on Wednesday, 24 January.

This session will be led by the Director of Social Responsibility and the Public Engagement Manager, with input from our academic community. We’ll highlight our recent achievement in being awarded a Platinum Watermark by the National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE), which recognises universities’ engagement with the public.

This 45 minute session will provide you with an opportunity to:

  • learn about the principles for meaningful public engagement;
  • find out more about a variety of initiatives from across the University that support our public engagement aims;
  • get some tips on how you can start to get involved in public engagement;
  • hear how our social responsibility and civic engagement strategy and public engagement framework results in real actions and impact regionally, nationally and internationally.

The content will be useful to anyone who wishes to find out more about the opportunities and impact of our public engagement activities, the key people behind their delivery, and our plans for the future.
