Rewarding exceptional performance scheme opens
08 Jan 2024
Nominations are open from Monday, 8 January to Friday, 16 February 2024
The annual Rewarding exceptional performance scheme is open for nominations Monday, 8 January 2024 until Friday, 16 February 2024.
Adèle Mackinley, Director of People and Organisational Development said: “2023 was another bumper year for our REP scheme with almost 600 nominations received. I encourage all managers to consider nominating their staff who have made great contributions this year for recognition through our REP scheme – this can be exceptional performance for a one-off task or for ongoing exceptional all-round performance. This is a great way to recognise and reward our people for the fantastic work they do.”
Successful nominees for the Rewarding Exceptional Performance Scheme (for one-off initiatives) will be awarded a payment, usually up to the value of one increment. Where a member of staff has shown a sustained exceptional performance, they will advance to the next point on the salary scale. For those who are already at the top of their scale, they will receive a contribution point. An appropriate payment may also be split between a team where there has been a combined achievement.
Nominations
• Nominations should clearly demonstrate how and why a colleague’s contribution has been truly exceptional and stands out as making a significant contribution.
• Nominations will be welcomed for all Professional Services staff up to the closing date on Friday 16 February 2024. Applications will then be assessed by Local Management Panels.
• The nominations for academic and research staff will be reviewed by School and Faculty Promotions Committees who will share their timetables and processes for nominating staff locally.
• Group nomination form (where the supporting evidence is the same for all nominated people)
Further information
• Our Rewarding Exceptional Performance Policy recognises outstanding achievement by individual staff members and teams by awarding additional pay to staff in grades 1 - 8 who make an exceptional contribution either to a one-off task/project, or through a sustained exceptional contribution in their role.
