Aline Egan's legacy: helping postgraduate students finance their studies

04 Jan 2024

Thanks to Manchester alumna Aline Egan, who kindly chose to remember the University with a gift in her will, which is helping to support up to 200 postgraduate students over the next four years

We are already seeing the impact of Aline’s support, as we welcomed the first cohort of Aline Egan Scholars to our University in September.

Students like Adetoro who says being an Aline Egan Scholar “means achieving my dreams” and Moleka who said, “without the bursary, I likely would not be able to afford studying a Masters”.

Deyzi Santos (pictured) adds: "Thanks to this support, I’ve stayed dedicated to my medical microbiology studies and I am set to be the first person in my family to earn a master’s degree. My aim is to contribute positively to the fight against antimicrobial resistance.”

Thanks to Aline, more great minds will make the breakthroughs and discoveries that will benefit future generations, regardless of their social or financial circumstances.
