An update on Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) on campus

Following further investigations, the University has now identified the presence of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) panels in limited locations within the Schuster building

These panels have been inspected and assessed by our appointed Structural Engineers who have confirmed that all areas remain safe and available for use.  

In accordance with the guidance published by the Health and Safety Executive, with reference to the Institute of Structural Engineers technical advice, these panels have been assessed and recorded on the University's RAAC register and will be monitored in accordance with our RAAC management plan.
