Teaching Excellence Awards Ceremony 2023

24 Oct 2023

The Teaching Excellence Awards 2023 took place in the Whitworth Hall on Wednesday, 27 September, with colleagues coming together to celebrate their peers’ extraordinary contribution to teaching and learning

Professor April McMahon

Teaching Excellence Awards are made annually in recognition of significant and sustained commitment to excellence in the delivery and/or support of teaching and learning at UG or PGT level. Reflecting the evolution of our practice and ways of working, our Teaching Excellence Awards celebrate the strength and diversity of practice in our University of Manchester community.

The ceremony was an opportunity to formally recognise the efforts of this year’s winners.

Speaking at the event, Professor April McMahon, Vice President for Teaching, Learning and Students, who presented the awards, said:

"As ever, we received a truly impressive range of nominations from colleagues involved in teaching and learning across the university, whether that be from staff in Academic, Technical, Lab-based or Professional Services roles.

"This year saw an increase in the number of staff who had been nominated by their colleagues, and it was a real pleasure to see how many had taken the time to draw attention to the hard work of their peers in this way.

"Our thanks to all of the nominees for their valued contributions to teaching and learning at The University of Manchester."
