Stay healthy this autumn

Autumn vegetables

Is there a better way to celebrate Autumn (or to start hibernating) than good food?

Well, Autumn certainly feels in full flow over the last few days and with the temperature dropping and the days getting shorter it can feel like hibernation time. But it’s also a great time to join our farmers in celebrating a new season of wonderful seasonal veg!

While it might feel like a sad end to summer’s fresh Mediterranean goodness on our plates, local fields are bursting with this season's delicious gems. An abundance of colourful squash, crunchy carrots, fragrant leeks, crisp broad beans will have you looking forward to getting home to get cooking (and there’s lovely winter salads to bring us a little taste of sunshine too!).

Veg Box People, who have worked closely with the University of Manchester for many years, work towards bringing this lovely, local, organic veg to Greater Manchester and support local farmers in the process. Veg Box People’s new revamped stall (on Tuesdays outside the Greenhouse cafe) is also selling fresh bread and other tasty produce, drop in to find out more or pick up your pre-ordered veg bag. What better way to celebrate Autumn (and even to start hibernating) than good food?

Working from home? We’ve just teamed up with Chorlton Bike Deliveries. Go to our website to find out how to get a home delivery.
