Find out what improvements are being made
Our University’s Research Lifecycle Programme is providing support for the roll-out of a module within Pure, our research information system, to record and showcase our wide range of platforms, facilities and equipment.
Working in partnership with academic and technical colleagues in all three faculties, and with digital and web expertise, the project aims to provide an accurate, searchable interface for a wide range of stakeholders (such as current and potential academic and industry collaborators, students, and staff) to easily find information in one place.
Delivered through the recently upgraded Research Explorer portal, the project aims to provide improved showcasing of these assets, including where a facility or a piece of equipment has had a wider footprint such as being used as part of a research project, has helped support the production of research publications, or has had impact in other areas, such as in teaching or social responsibility activities.
The new pages will complement existing University web resources by providing a more in-depth view of our facilities including details of the technical teams working within them and comprehensive listings of related research outputs, including publications and datasets.
The new module also aims to improve discoverability of facilities and equipment which are available for loan or booking, by providing information about how to contact the right technical expert to make an enquiry, or by providing a link to booking systems.
