2023 Annual Doubleday Lecture (rescheduled date)

Dame Philippa Russell DBE will deliver this year's lecture on 29 November 2023, from 2pm to 4pm

The Doubleday Centre for Patient Experience is delighted to announce that this year’s prestigious Doubleday annual lecture will be given by National Doubleday Ambassador and Doubleday Award Recipient Dame Philippa Russell DBE.

She is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and a Fellow of the RSA. In1990, she was awarded the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Centenary International Award for women who have contributed to the field of learning disability. She is the Chair of the former Standing Commission on Carers, Vice-President of Carers UK, and a Commissioner with the Disability Rights Commission.

In 2005, she was awarded the RADAR (Royal Association of Disability and Rehabilitation) Lifetime Achievement Award for the furtherance of the human and civil rights of disabled people. Dame Philippa is the parent of a son with a learning disability and has wide contacts with voluntary and user organisations with an interest in disabled children, young people and their families.
