Regulation XIX (Academic Appeals) is changing
05 Oct 2023
Regulation XIX (Academic Appeals) underwent a full review in 2022-2023 and the updated Regulation will be implemented in autumn 2023
The Teaching and Learning Delivery team has an online hub for all information and guidance, training, and resources for colleagues involved in handling academic appeals. The updated Regulation focuses on plain English, support information, lengthening the total consideration period to align with the OIA’s Good Practice Framework, and amended process to bring us in line with SEP structures and roles.
On this page you can already find:
- A short video about the coming changes, along with the slide deck.
- A training video about the revised academic appeals process. This is 26 minutes long and will be useful for anyone handling appeals at any level. The slide deck is also available.
- Links to useable preview versions of the new online appeals forms.
- Samples of the Stage One (School/DA) appeal notification email, acknowledgement email, and PDF version of the appeal submission.
- Published Q&A and a link to submit further questions.
We encourage all colleagues involved in any way with handling academic appeals to access the page above and the resources available. We are also sending out regular stakeholder communications for information and cascade.
